2018 Summer Staff Bios. We've got a bunch of great ones!!! Hiring staff is a work in progress. Check back often for new additions!
Hey campers, my name’s Ashley!
This will be my fourth year on staff, and my third year as a barn staff member.
I was born and raised at Cedar Lodge for all 20 years of my life. There hasn’t been a summer that I’ve spent away from camp. I’m really looking forward to teaching riding of all levels through camp and meeting you all! When it comes to my out of camp life, I’m currently in my second year of college at Albion College studying Exercise Science. I enjoy my extra time riding, spending time at the barn, playing guitar, and working out. I’m looking forward to a great summer and meeting you all very soon!
Arts and Crafts/Photography
Hello campers! My name is Danielle and I'm from Waukegan, IL. You may recognize me from facilitating parking at IEA or from last summer shooting a ton of video of camp. I was a camper at Cedar Lodge many years ago, but this will be my first year officially on staff. I'm a filmmaker and occasional projectionist, and I will be teaching arts & crafts, darkroom photography, and video this summer. Outside of the arts, I enjoy riding, reading, going to the roller rink, and hanging out with my cats. Camp is the place that I've always felt most at home, and I'm so thrilled to spend my summer helping you all imagine, play, and create. Come find me if you'd like to discuss horror films, fantasy novels, cosplay, or anything else nerdy! I'm so excited to meet you all! 2018 = Best. Summer. Ever.
guys, my name is Ash. I'm from Manchester in sunny England and I am
currently finishing the third
year of my degree at
Manchester Metropolitan University studying British politics. This
will be my first year at Camp Cedar Lodge and I hope to bring
a bit of England with me. I enjoy swimming, scuba-diving, frisbee and
football, and this year will you mostly find me down on the
waterfront, in my natural habitat. I cant wait to meet everyone at
camp, see you soon!
guys! My name is Anna, and I am so excited to spend my summer
at Cedar Lodge! I was a camper every summer from the time I was
8 to 15, and I competed on Cedar Lodge's IEA team for two years.
I can't wait to be back! I will be riding staff this summer,
and I am really looking forward to teaching lessons and spending my
time in the barn getting to know all of you. Right now I am in
my second year at the University of Illinois studying Recreation,
Sport, and Tourism, with a concentration in Tourism Management.
When I am not studying, I spend a lot of my time riding my horse,
Corbin (Who will be joining me at Cedar Lodge this summer, so keep a
look out for him in the barn!). I also enjoy snowboarding,
traveling, and being outside as much as I can. I'm counting the
days until Summer 2018, See you all soon!
Waterfront/Arts and Crafts/Nature
Hey Folks! I’m Jak and I cannot wait to join you this summer! I come from the UK, England, working at places such as Warners Brothers studios and Silver Jubilee Park. I have practised in performing arts, including musical theatre and acting which have spread out to other hobbies such as prop making and music creation/ technology. Apart from that I consider myself as a creative: I love to draw, build props, watch films and meet new people. This year I want to give you a fun learning experience through music with what I have learnt over the years and to work as a team!
They'll be around ............
Hi my name is Amanda and I am super excited to be on staff again this summer. I am from Bloomfield Hills, MI but am currently living in Ann Arbor. I have just finished my first year of Medical school at Wayne State University. In my free time I enjoy riding and playing polo on my school's team. I am also the captain of the women's club ultimate Frisbee team so if anyone wants to learn some awesome throws come find me. This summer I will mostly be in the barn teaching riding lessons, drill team, polo and taking horseback overnights. I look forward to seeing all the new and familiar faces, so get excited for summer 2015.

With some many great old faces to see and so many wonderful new faces to meet, how could I possibly resist coming back to camp for yet another summer. I would just miss the fun way too much. Those who know me know I love camp. I love the culture of camp, the philosophy of camp and all the great things camp gives to campers like you. In my 25 years, I have only ever missed two summers. For me, camp is a way of life. I am eager to see you all this summer and to do what I love. Which is share with you this wonderful place called Cedar Lodge, and to help you learn, grow, and have fun.
If you want to know where you can find me this summer, you will have to do some searching around. I will spend a lot of my time at the waterfront lifeguarding for free swim, boating, and other activities at the lake. You will also find my hiking in the woods, keeping Sr. unit in line, making friendship bracelets in the A&C, playing SPUD on the lawn, and maybe even in the barn on occasion. And If you ask nicely, I will even teach you to hang a spoon off of your nose (and other important life skills that you only learn at camp)
What about my none-camp life you may wonder. Well, I graduated from Kalamazoo College in 04' with a BA in psychology. I spent 8 months living, working, and traveling in Africa. Now I am working and hopefully starting graduate school in the fall to get my Master's. In my free time, I read, do yoga and swim laps to keep my lifeguarding muscles in tip top shape for camp.
