Formally the Full Riding Program
Cedar Lodge's Silver Plan is designed for the equestrian that wants to work seriously on improving their riding and/or vaulting skills and doesn't want to have to chose which they love more! They perhaps want to spend half of their day at the barn, but also may be interested in all the other general camp programs that Cedar Lodge has to offer. Campers that want even more riding than is offered with the Silver Plan may want to sign up for the Gold Plan. If you would like to see how all three programs compare, please check out our Horse and Vaulting Programs explained page.
Fee: General camp fee plus 300/week. Advanced vaulters* 30.00 surcharge
*Advanced vaulters are any vaulters that are proficient vaulters at trot and/or canter
Questions you may ask:
Q) What does this plan include?: 1 riding lesson daily, 1 vaulting lesson daily, sign up for specialty rides 3 times per week, Saturday vaulting and practice rides. Horse overnight for 2 week or longer campers.
Q) Do I have to come to my lessons daily? No. Just make sure you tell your instructor if you're not coming to your riding class. Vaulting is done on a drop in basis. There is a great selection of general programs at camp and we understand! If you decide not to ride however, there will be no reimbursement for lessons missed.
Q) What are Specialty rides? Specialty rides are held 4-5 days during the week in the afternoon and campers in the Silver and Gold programs may opt to sign up for this class for an additional chance to ride during the week. These rides are on a sign up, first come first serve basis and the amount of rides a particular camper will get may vary. On the average, if a camper signs up all 5 days for specialty rides, they will get to ride in the Specialty classes, 2-4 times a week.
Q) What other horse programs are offered? All riders and vaulters are qualified to attend ground lectures and special classes held throughout the week designed to encourage personal growth in every rider. Examples of classes are braiding, horse management, horse physiology, breeds, colors, conformation and training the young horse.Campers that attend regularly can work on four levels of Ground Lecture certifications that Cedar Lodge offers as part of a rider's education. Silver and Gold Plan participants are also qualified for field trips and educational videos.
All two week or longer campers that sign up for the Silver and Gold Plans for at least 2 weeks are offered the additional horse program of a Horse Overnight on our famous "Star Hill".
